A Huron County jury found Russell Alexander Kopah, 77, guilty of Fourth-Degree Child Abuse for placing Murphy’s concentrated floor cleaner in a three-year-old’s mouth. He was acquitted of witness intimidation. Sentencing is set for October 27, 2025.

Ruben Darnell Whimper of Battle Creek pleaded guilty to felony fraud in Huron County. The case, involving over $7,000 in stolen credit purchases, was solved through extensive video review and inter-agency investigation, led by Det. Derek Joy of the Bad Axe Police Department.

Demondre Antonio Williams, 28, was found guilty in Huron County for a 2024 drive-by shooting in Bad Axe, Michigan. He fired 11 shots into an occupied home from a vehicle driven by Jodi Lee Tibbits, mistakenly targeting the wrong house. No one was injured. Williams was convicted on multiple firearm and weapons charges. Sentencing is set for August 25, 2025.
